Each year, the Sunset Park Business Improvement District sponsors, supports, or partners with other community organizations to produce various events for the benefit of our community.

5th Avenue September Street Festival
National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Traffic Violence
Holiday Shopping Days
Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
Winter/Holiday Avenue Lights
Local volunteer clean-up and gardening days for clubs, and block associations

But…Monday, March 10th, 2025, through Friday, March 14th, 2025, the NYCDOT Division of Bridges will shift traffic on 5th Avenue from 64th Street to 65th Street to facilitate contractor access to work area at the north abutment location between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flaggers will be on site to assist with the movement of traffic.
Two 5’ sidewalk access and one travel lane in each direction will be maintained.
Lane of Traffic and sidewalk access will return to normal operation after work hours only.
